Our Mini Golden Retrievers
A mini golden retriever is a smaller hybrid version of the beloved, golden retriever designed to retain the breeds friendly temperament, and classic golden appearance, just in a more compact size
Our mini golden retrievers stem from the retriever and groodle, poodle mix which means they have a less chance of shedding if they shed at all! We have spent some time with our genetics breeding to produce dogs that look like golden retrievers.
Mel has a passion for golden retrievers and is so exciter to now offer these mini Goldens (which are not always golden sometimes they are red)
Mini golden retrievers are ideal for those who love the look of the golden retriever yet don't love the fur that they lovingly leave behind hehehehe
Also someone who is wanting a smaller size dog they typically are around 30 cm for a true mini and up to the size of a small golden retriever for a medium size.
Our Groodles
A Groodle is a designer dog that is a cross between an Golden Retriever and a Poodle. Also known as a Goldendoodle.
“Groodles are fast becoming one of Australia’s most popular family dogs. These affectionate and intelligent dogs come in a range of sizes from Miniature to Standard to suit any family situation”
We focus especially on the Red coloured often with white patches, although on occasion may have other colours.
Their fur can be curly or wavy and occasionally straighter like the golden retriever, they hardly shed or smell. We predominantly breed miniature groodles here at prestige pets, however occasionally have standard size also.
What is the size difference between standard and miniature?
A mini groodle can grow as large as 20kg and around 40cm, depending on parentage; some groodles will grow to only 10kg and around 35cm.
A Standard Groodle will stand at between 45 – 65cm (19-25 inches) tall at the shoulder, and weigh 25 – 45kg (60-100 pounds)
Their can be a large variation within the size, as we are experienced with our dogs and our pups we can guide you as to the size of the pup and make sure that you have a pup that it the best size to suit you and your family.
Groodles are easy to groom and look after, they have the nature of a Golden Retriever – loving, friendly with everybody and always happy. This, combined with the intelligence of the poodle, makes them very fine family dogs.
They are thought by many people to produce the ideal temperament in a dog. Groodles are frequently described as being very gentle dogs. They are obedient, friendly, intelligent, and social.
They are all about human companionship and being with their owners.
They make very good family dogs and tend to get along well with children, even younger, slightly rough children.
They get along well with everything and everyone, whether animal or human, of any age. They are often quite affectionate and tend to develop a strong connection with their companions and owners.
Because Groodles are generally so eager to please.
The average Groodle has a life expectancy of 10-15 years with the Mini Groodles tending to live the longest of the 3 Groodle sizes.
Our Spoodles
A Spoodle is a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle, They are also known In the USA as a Cockerpoo.

Spoodles are a small to medium sized dog, ranging approximately 6-14kg and 25-40cm tall to the shoulder when fully grown.
This can vary depending on parents.
“Friendly, outgoing and sweet are the top words to describe a Spoodle. Children, dogs and even cats will find a spot in this breed’s loyal and devoted heart. Referred to as the ‘social butterfly’ of dogs, a Spoodle has a wonderful temperament that makes them ideal family pets, or a loyal companion”
Spoodles are a playful dog that are known to be very affectionate. They enjoy walks and a swim but are also content around the home.
In our experience they are highly trainable, very smart family dogs.
Spoodles can be good guard dogs as they may bark when visitors arrive, but are not considered a ‘yappy’ dog. Spoodles are not considered aggressive, more of a gentle nature.
You will have your neighbours and friends popping over just, to play with your Spoodle, who is the embodiment of puppy-dog eyes. They have a gentle temperament and get along brilliantly with children and other pets.
